De pijlinktvis (Teuthida), ook wel bekend onder de veelgebruikte naam “calamari” of “calamares” is de meest voorkomende inktvis in de Noordzee en behoort tot de groep zeeweekdieren. Ze hebben twee vinnen waardoor ze er uit zien als een pijl. Het verschil met een octopus is dat zij 10 tentakels hebben in plaats van 8. De pijlinktvis zwemt achteruit en jaagt op zicht. Ze zwemmen snel tussen een school vissen en draaien zich om er één te pakken. Ze zijn het hele jaar door verkrijgbaar.
